Paul F. Delaney is founder and Managing Director of Patronus Capital Advisors. Mr. Delaney has sourced and executed a significant number of successful fundraising assignments. He has been actively involved in the origination and distribution of funds and all stages of the fundraising process. Mr. Delaney is skilled at building and maintaining relationships with institutional investors including public and corporate pension funds, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, consultants, advisors, financial institutions, fund of funds, family offices, and other private equity investors. Mr. Delaney has also been an active private equity investor, having managed a significant portfolio of private equity funds and structured equity vehicles for one of the largest institutional investors in alternatives in the United States.

Prior to founding Patronus Capital Advisors in 2006, Mr. Delaney was a Partner at Pomona Capital, a leading private equity secondary firm based in New York City. Prior to Pomona Capital, Mr. Delaney was Managing Director and a founder of the Bear Stearns Private Funds Group, a placement agent dedicated to raising capital for small and mid-sized buyout, venture capital, mezzanine, and special situations funds and other alternative investment managers. Mr. Delaney was instrumental in organizing, launching and building a de novo placement business platform within Bear Stearns and was responsible for the origination and distribution of private equity fund transactions globally.

Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Mr. Delaney had a 20-year career as an officer of MetLife Inc., one of the largest institutional investors by allocation to alternative assets. During his tenure at MetLife, he served as Director of Private Equity Portfolio Management, where he managed a team of professionals responsible for evaluating investment opportunities and committing new capital to U.S. and international private equity funds on behalf of the MetLife general account and pension plan. He managed a $3 billion portfolio comprised of buyout, venture capital, distressed, mezzanine and secondary funds, as well as structured equity vehicles, and also sourced and executed equity and mezzanine co-investment opportunities and secondary transactions. Mr. Delaney initiated MetLife's membership in the Institutional Limited Partners Association and served on a number of limited partner advisory boards.

Mr. Delaney also had significant positions of responsibility within MetLife's International Operations, Corporate Treasury, and Institutional Insurance divisions.

Mr. Delaney received a B.A. from Saint Michael's College, an MBA from Adelphi University, and a J.D. from New York Law School. He is a member of the New York State Bar and is Series 7 and 66 licensed.
